Pakistani driver abducted in Iraq
2006-05-28
Iraqi insurgents have abducted a Pakistani working as a driver with US troops. He is already feared dead. Muhammad Shafiq, a resident Chak Batala, Tobatek Singh, had been working with the transport company 'Mabrad' as a driver in Kuwait for the past two years. Muhammad Shafiq's convoy was attacked on April 10, 2006 near Fallujah. Shafiq's vehicle was cut off from the convoy and he was left behind. He was later kidnapped. The US troops informed Mabrad by mail about Shafiq's abduction, but the company failed to inform his family. Recently, his colleagues said the company had received information that Shafiq had been killed.
