Soldier's Captors Set Tuesday Deadline for Israel
2006-07-03 | |
The three Palestinian militant groups that captured an Israeli soldier gave Israel until Tuesday morning to release Palestinian prisoners or "pay the consequences." The statement, which was faxed to news agencies on Monday, did not say what those consequences would be. that's because Paleos are congenitally unable to understand the concept of "consequences"
Tuesday should be interesting

#12 is collective punishment the only military option, or is there a better way? Now that's the damn crux of the damn biscuit ain't it? I don't know. My first choice is redoubling the execution of pali middle management types. |

#11 Drive them out and destroy them now. No better opportunity, no more just a cause. Get'r done! |

#9 Israel said if Cpl. Shalit is dead that the results would be "far, far worse" for the Palestinians. I think grom may well be right. I don't think any neutral doctors have visited the guy and reported to the outside world. They killed that 18-year old kid right after they got him back on their side, and they haven't even sent out a picture of the guy. Frustrated comments aside, if it's true that he is dead, is collective punishment the only military option, or is there a better way? Should all Palestinians be given pistols so they can take care of the problem themselves? Would they? |

#7 I fear grom is correct. Islamik execution is announced and then it's time to negotiate over the body. Since the young man is dead why should more die? Right? Hell, it's a good time for both sides to get together and exchange the location of the corpse for 1000 Pali prisoners. Right? It's a like a chance to the cycle of violence.. /dammit |

#6 The 'sound of the gun' is the signal for Isreal to grind Hamas and its allied cells into the ground so that another faction will be stronger in the following 'shoot'em up' [the Paleo version of one man, one vote]. You don't have to destroy Hamas, just weaken it enough to permit someone else an opportunity in the driver's seat. Rinse, repeat. Either one day you come up with a winner, or the Paleos join the Carthagineans as people in history. |

#5 A bunch of BS from the Paleos to match the failure of the Israelis to take decisive action. The kinder, gentler invasion of Paleostan is going to come back to haunt Israel. They need to start kicking butt before the execution announcement. Better they find the body in whatever its condition than that the Paleos get one more news conference. |

#4 I'm afraid Grom's right. The kid was dead right after getting kidnapped. Hope I'm wrong.... Time for a national bitchslapping |

#3 I'd prefer to be wrong, 2b. |

#2 probably right grom. If Israel is smart, they will provide the payback quick and forcefully. Time is of the essence - before the propagandists can somehow make right on their side. |

#1 IMO, that means he's dead, and we'll get the announcement of "execution" tomorrow . |
