A Lebanese army source said Israeli warplanes attacked two army facilities near Beirut. The source said there are casualties at the scene.

#5 Exactly. You've got another nasty civil war in potential here. Lebanon is one of the few ME countries left with a non-Muslim population in large numbers. Add jihadists, shake well. Boom. |

#1 Israel is not motivated to cause Lebanon's breakup. In fact, the destruction of Hizbollah would end effective Syrian sovereignty over the south. If Lebanese forces are attacked, it could only be part of a tactical move as lotp suggests. |
