CHINIOT: Five people were killed and 12 others injured in a firing incident some 30 kilometres from Chiniot on Wednesday. According to police, a panchayat was convened at Mohallah Mochian Wala, in the jurisdiction of Bhowana police station, to settle a property dispute between the Chaddhar and Jappa clans.The meeting was going on when a proclaimed offender, Gulzar Ahmed, alias Gulzari Jappa, along with accomplices opened fire on his rivals and later escaped the scene. Gulzar Ahmed was wanted by the police in several cases of dacoity, robbery, murder and attempted murder. Five people died at the scene and 12 were injured.
