2006-09-29 |
KHAR: A senior official of the political administration of Bajaur Agency escaped a remote-controlled bomb blast unhurt Thursday. Nawagai Tehsildar Yar Muhammad Khan was on his way to Khar when a roadside remote-controlled bomb went off shattering his vehicle's windscreen, a security official told Daily Times. Though the vehicle was slightly damaged, no one was hurt in the attack. No one claimed responsibility for the bombing about 18 kilometres (11 miles) west of Khar, Bajur's main town, but three tribesmen have been detained for questioning, said security official Abdul Qayyum, describing the blast as a "terrorist attack". The unsuccessful attack came nine days after a similar attack on a National Commission for Human Development vehicle, which killed a woman worker of the commission and injured another. |
