Russia has asked North Korea to show restraint over its intention to hold nuclear tests saying it could aggravate the situation in the Korean peninsula, Russian news agency RIA-Novosti reports.“We believe that this move could lead to a further escalation of the military-political situation on the Korean peninsula and could affect the international nuclear non-proliferation system,” the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
Speaking at a press conference yesterday Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov sought a diplomatic solution to the North Korean nuclear impasse.
