 Thai and American authorities, in a joint sting operation, have seized 500 fake US passports and arrested two men, including one Pakistani, in connection with the counterfeit racket, Thai police said on Wednesday. Pakistani national Intizar Hussain, 42, and Thai national Pradit Dubay, whose age remains unknown, were arrested in Bangkok on Tuesday evening after being found in possession of 500 fake US passports and 432 fake US passport seals, used to cover the passport photo page. Lieutenant General Viroj Chantarangsi, commander of BangkokÂ’s metropolitan police force, said that he had been contacted by American embassy security staff back in February in connection with a fake passport gang. |
