Three government soldiers were killed Thursday in attacks blamed on the Tamil Tiger rebels in northern Sri Lanka, a day after a rebel suicide ambush at a naval base killed a sailor and wounded 15. Two troops who were part of a foot patrol near the northern town of Vavuniya were killed by mines planted by the Tamil Tigers, military spokesman Brig. Prasad Samarasinghe said.
