| North Korea accuses US of aerial war exercises |

| North Korea accused the United States of conducting aerial war exercises this week against the communist country, an official news report said Thursday. "More than 150 planes including F-16 and A-10 (planes) of the 7th Air Force of the US imperialist aggression troops in South Korea ... were involved in the adventurous exercises" on Wednesday, said the North's official Korean Central News Agency. The KCNA report, citing "military sources," said the war maneuvers were aimed at bolstering the capabilities for precision attacks on strategic targets in North Korea and pre-emptive strikes. The US military does not comment on the accusations, although it acknowledges monitoring North Korean military activity. |
