Doesn't do the little girl any good, but it protects untold numbers of other little girls.

#11  I personally volunteer to pull the trigger (or lever or push the IV) on this filth.

The best use he can be is to fertilize a field.

#9  You don't know jurors.

#8  And I'm hoping the two who voted against his death did so because they thought he would suffer more in prison than "in heaven"

I can't believe that any jurors could find him guilty and NOT vote for the death penalty, unless they lied about their ability to impose the death penalty during selection. If this crime doesn't qualify one for capital punishment I don't want to know what does.

#7  It remains to be seen what will come of this. The current OH gov Strickland postponed 3 scheduled executions shortly after taking office. I think this gov is opposed to the death penalty.
From this article:
He [Strickland] promised to be deliberate but decisive, sensitive but not soft while reviewing death penalty cases.

Death penalty opponents in Southwest Ohio are delighted with Strickland. They're optimistic that he will "bring a more informed human touch" to the issue, said Sister Alice Gerdeman of Cincinnati, president of Ohioans to Stop Executions.

Strickland spent seven years counseling prison inmates, including some on death row. He's also a Methodist minister - and the United Methodist Church opposes the death penalty.

But to death penalty supporters, Strickland's actions are an ominous sign.

Of the 3 condemned men allowed to continue living by Strickland, I am most familiar with James J. Filiaggi, who ignored a protective court order, stalked his [ex?]wife and executed her in 1994. He has expressed no remorse. This man has lived 12 years too long.

#6  Y'all know what a wimp I am about hurting people, but on this I feel very strongly: if a person is so broken he can't be fixed, and a danger to others, the best thing for all is to kill him quickly. Pedophiles can't be cured, neither can serial rapists and serial killers. No thinking necessary beyond that.

#5  May God damn him to Hell and may we be smart enough to send him posthaste to that reward. I don't want this animal to live on death row for twenty years; I'd like to see him executed tomorrow. In the same way that he killed Jessica.
Vengeful, you say? You don't know the half of it.

#4  Pedophilia is incurable, they use that as a defense all the time. So if you can't rehabilitate the creepy bastards I suggest we implement a more permanent solution. Such as we did with this piece of shit.

#3  Let's hope he's not kept in solitary confinement prior to his execution.

#2  You said it Gorb, I hope that 1 hour was simply to "make it look 'deliberate'", however I would have worked it to lunch, ate my steak dinner and then pronounced death, shortly after reaching for the tooth pick!

#1  A jury took just over an hour Wednesday to decide that John Evander Couey should be executed for the kidnapping, rape and murder of 9-year-old Jessica Lunsford.

What, did the Jury kick off the proceedings by taking a lunch hour I hope?

And I'm hoping the two who voted against his death did so because they thought he would suffer more in prison than "in heaven" where Couey says he will apologize to Jessica. I notice he's found religion all of a sudden.

And whatever happened to his trash relatives who had no clue whatsoever that he was raping a nine-year-old in the bedroom of the trailer he was sharing with them?

He tried to hide his actions at every opportunity, and there were a lot of them. He's not "mentally impaired" enough to get any mercy from me. I say he gets buried alive in a trash bag as well. With Jessica's purple dolphin.
