Ghazi refuses to set time frame for negotiations |
2007-04-15 |
The Lal Masjid administration on Saturday refused to set any time frame for talks, saying that first the government must start rebuilding seven mosques here that were demolished in January. An aide of PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain phoned the deputy cleric of Lal Masjid, Maulana Abdul Rashid Ghazi, on Saturday evening. “I made it clear to them that first Shujaat should abide by his commitment and then we would discuss the matter,” Ghazi told Daily Times. “Shujaat had agreed that first the seven demolished mosques should be reconstructed and the government would take visible actions for enforcement of Sharia,” he added. “Now the ball is in the government’s court.” |
