Jihad Al-Khazen: Arab Countries Must Cut Off Relations With Palestinian Gov't |
2007-05-18 |
The former editor of the London daily Al-Hayat, Jihad Al-Khazen, has reversed his recognition of the Palestinian unity government, of Fatah, and of Hamas, and has called on Arab countries to cut off relations with the Palestinian government. In an article, he stated that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas should resign because of his weakness as a leader, and because of the smuggling into the Gaza Strip of weapons designated not against Israel but for civil war. He said that the U.S. had pressured for elections in the PA knowing that Hamas would win, so that it would be able to boycott and besiege the Palestinians on the pretext that Hamas is a terror organization.
