Now bacteria can store information
2007-05-19
Japanese researchers have discovered how to store information in bacteria. Scientists at Keio University successfully inserted Albert Einstein's famous "E > MC²" equation into the genetic code of a bacterium. They said the work could potentially allow information to be stored for "hundreds of millions of years".

INSTRUCTIONS: For best results leave indoors overnight in a moist environment out of direct sunlight without any strong drafts. Protect from wide temperature swings and exposure to ultraviolet sources. DO NOT wash hands prior to handling and avoid using strong solvents or cleaning agents around area of use. Syringe, platinum loop and agar extra on most model petri dishes. Incubation times depend upon environmental condiditions outside of manufacturer's control. Infectious numbers for purposes of comparison only. Comparable strains may provide different results depending upon prior immunization and other factors not in evidence. Certain claims not valid in CA, VT, MA, WA and other states or local municipalities. Tax, license and code compliance fees not included. End user responsible for adherence to cGMP (current General Manufacturing Practices). Your SDS Page electrophoresis immunoassay may vary depending upon gel density, driving charge and other laboratory conditions. Not responsible for reverse transscriptase or fragmentary sections. See your local dealer for more virulent strains and information about extended illnesses.

#1  Atta concept, storing information in DNA!

Wait...

(In 3765, scientists will again rediscover the coding nature of DNA strands and after some pondering, will assess the unfortunate inserted segment as "junk DNA")
