Fatah turns in doctor who treated Lebanon gunmen
2007-06-15
Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah movement handed over to the Lebanese army on Thursday a Saudi doctor who treated the leader of Islamic gunmen in a Palestinian refugee camp in northern Lebanon, a Palestinian official said.

The Palestinian official, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter, said the doctor had come to Lebanon two months ago to participate "in liberating Jerusalem." He identified the doctor as Omar Abu Mursi and said he had been treating members and officials of the Fatah Islam group that has been fighting Lebanese troops since May 20 in the Nahr el-Bared refugee camp near the northern city of Tripoli. The physician told Fatah officials that he had treated Fatah Islam leader Shaker Youssef al-Absi and his military commander Abu Hureira for non-fatal wounds they suffered during the fighting, according to the official, who didn't reveal the nature of the injuries. Abu Mursi said both men were still alive, he added.

#2  Honest mistake. When's the last time anyone's seen Israel on a Saudi map?

#1  the doctor had come to Lebanon two months ago to participate "in liberating Jerusalem."

From this I deduce that geography isn't a required course in the Saudi educational system.
