| US Senate okays more war funding as Dems try to force an end to conflict |

 Powerless in their effort to bring US troops home from Iraq, Senate Democrats helped pass a defense policy bill Monday that would authorize another $150 billion for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The 92-3 vote came as the House of Representatives planned to approve separate legislation Tuesday that would require that President George W. Bush give Congress a plan for eventual troop withdrawals. |

| #2 Overstepping their bounds again. Congress cannot REQUIRE the President to do anything with regards to the military. They can suggest, they can plead, they can even moan and whine and tug on the purse strings, but they cannot REQUIRE. |
