Sudan and Saudi Arabia: Who Speaks for Islam? By John L. Esposito & John O. Voll In a world in which Islamophobes blur the distinction between the barbaric acts of Muslim extremists and terrorists [a.k.a., average folks in most Moslem dominated countries] and the religion of Islam, two recent legal decisions in Sudan and Saudi Arabia will reinforce accusations that Islam is an intolerant religion.... blah.. blah.. All our futures depend upon an ability to agree upon a global ethic, based upon mutual understanding and respect, that transcends our religious and cultural differences. Whatever our differences, there can never be an acceptable excuse for injustice and intolerance in the name of our religions [oh lord Kumbaya]. Both professors are bought and paid for by a Saudi billionaire's endowment

#9 There is no excuse for this period. You will live in utter squalor in the desert if you do not change now. And I mean NOW. Our "Dialogue" is over. |

#8 The Sudan Religio-Government chaps used this whole Teddy-Mo-Gate episode as a means to further their agenda and to control their masses by utilizing mass eye-rolling, spittle spraying, flashing of simitars and swords, and other emotive props. Whether it is a fatwa against Salmon Rushtie, Mo Cartoon Madness, a knife in the chest of Van Gough, flushing of Korans, it is all about pushing Western civilization back and taking over. Well, it is their Also, re: all the pop stars, VIPs™, and other parasites. How will they want to deal with Darfur, given the nutcase government we are dealing with? Maybe it's just Feelings™, and they will forget about it? I am still waiting for the UN plan that was going ahead full steam about a year ago. Just to give you an anecdote about the type of country it is: About 10 years ago, my friend was flying DHC-6 Twin Otters for Chevron over there, and they were based in Khartoum at a hotel. Some unfortunate local chap died outside the hotel. Daytime temps were above 100F, up to 115F. They did not remove the body for three days. |

#5 If I were a stoopid dhimmi, or a leftist-liberal, I wouldn't hesitate to get my views of what islam really is all about from the likes of John Esposito and John Voll. For gosh sakes, for all intents and purposes, they're both on the payroll of the KSA. We all know the good folks of the KSA represent true and authentic islam. What's not to trust? |

#4 ...some might still question why she was not more culturally sensitive to a potential backlash. Some might question why your faith and god are so fragile that a teddy bear threatens it. |

#3 ...some might still question why she was not more culturally sensitive to a potential backlash. Ummmmmm...maybe because the average person with even half a brain might not be able to grasp the fact that you can be sentenced to prison, or worse, for giving a friggin teddy bear the wrong name? |

#2 ... put in a balasted basket and dipped in Thames (or nearby river thereof). For 5 minutes, to make sure their innocence is impeccable. |
