Separately, 20 Taliban fighters were killed and nine others were arrested Sunday in a five-hour battle in Kandahar province's Zhari district, a statement from the interior ministry said. The clash began after insurgents attacked a police and Nato convoy, the statement said. There were no casualties among Nato or Afghan troops, said Sayed Agha Saqib, the provincial police chief.
