| Heavy fighting rocks Somali capital, no casualties reported |

| Mortar blasts and machine-gun fire rocked the Somali capital on Saturday as Ethiopia-backed Somali troops fought with rebels, shattering a brief lull after months of heavy clashes. Shells crashed into southern and northern Mogadishu, including residential areas. It was not immediately clear whether anyone had been killed. |

| #7 Remember folks, the Somalis are perfectly capable of trading rifle and machine gun fire the whole day without hitting anything. Once the qat kicks in, they stop caring if they're even aiming at anything. |
