| 90 remaining GIA terrorists, says arrested terrorist |

| Echorouk newspaper quoted security sources as saying that a terrorist, named Youcef Belkheir born in 1990 in Tiaret province, in western Algeria, who was arrested last October by security forces in the city of Médéa, has testified to the presence of a remnant group of 09 [sic] GIA terrorists in the region. A 90 year-old, who is said to be half-blind, is among them, according to the arrested terrorist's testimony. This GIA terrorist was rounded up by the security forces, together with one of his henchmen alias “Abou Dahdah” in the region of Médéa, just before the beginning of the holy month of fasting of Ramadhan. This residual GIA terrorist grouping is led by the so-called “Abou Yacine” who hails from the region of Boufarik, in central Blida province. According to the avowals made by the arrested terrorist, the members of this terrorist group have several injured among them and are on a tightrope on account of the security forces’ unflagging stranglehold on their makeshift hide-outs in the neighbouring mountains. |
