N. Korea destroys nuke tower
2008-05-07
N. Korea explodes the cooling tower at its Yongbyon nuke facility within a day of the removal from the US list of state sponsors of terrorism. While destruction of the tower, the facility's most recognizable feature, was seen as mostly symbolic, US officials saw it as striking visual evidence that North Korea was retreating from its nuclear ambitions, The Washington Times reported.

During talks last week, North Korean officials also tentatively agreed to hand over thousands of pages of documents, dating to 1990, concerning the daily production records of the facility. Moreover, North Korea reaffirmed it would act quickly after Pyongyang is removed from the US's terrorism list.

The North shut down the Yongbyon plant and is in the process of disabling it under a deal reached with the US, China, the two Koreas, Japan and Russia.

#4  The next time it snows in North Korea, I'd search the entire country for any area snow-free. Then I'd begin looking for tunnel mouths and "unusual" activity. It there isn't any, then we know the Koreans have actually ended their nuclear reactor program. If we do, then we know kimmie just moved everything into a cave dug into a mountain.

#3  You have to wonder how much the Israeli bombing of that Syrian facility had to do with this. But then again, you always have to wonder if it's just another NORK trick.

#1  If this is found to be true (by the MSM) then it will be hailed as a diplomatic victory for the Bush Administration, right?

Attributed to Clinton-Carter diplomacy?

Ignored, because it might be seen as a positive action by BusHitlerHalliburtonCheney?
