| Hamas operative dies of wounds sustained in clash with Army of Islam |

| A Hamas member died of injuries sustained in a clash with the Army of Islam, the group said Wednesday. A Hamas spokesman said the man died in Gaza hospital. Hamas police engaged in a gunbattle with loyalists from the Army of Islam on Sunday after attempts to arrest them turned violent. Hamas cracked down on opposition groups over the weekend after a mysterious car bombing killed five of its members. |
