Security forces targeted Taliban hideouts in various areas of Bajaur Agency on Wednesday but there were no reports of casualties. The troops fired mortars and artillery shells at Taliban hideouts in Bai Cheena, Kosar and Tandar Gate areas of the agency, officials said. Meanwhile, Taliban spokesman Maulvi Omar said rival cleric Pir Samiullah and his followers were killed for opposing the Taliban in Swat. He said the remaining 18 followers of Samiullah taken hostage by the Taliban would be executed soon. He told reporters over telephone that the tribal militias formed against the Taliban had failed. Meanwhile, at least two men were killed in a powerful explosion in a cave in Parang Tehsil of Mohmand Agency, official sources told APP. Seven men were in the cave in Dambar area for hunting when explosive materials dumped inside it detonated. Awal Sayed and Mosa Khan were killed in the explosion.
