| The security forces' operation to restore the government's writ in Bajaur Agency continued on Tuesday, with the forces targeting Taliban hideouts in various areas of the agency. Taliban missile attacks on agency headquarters Khar also continued, with four missiles fired on the city on Tuesday. The missiles were fired from Kohimor and Maram Ghundai mountains, some 20 kilometres from Khar. One of the missiles hit Fujja and another landed in Sadiq Abad area, but there were no reports of casualties. Security forces later targeted Taliban positions in the mountains using artillery fire. Security in Khar has been beefed up following the increased Taliban attacks and heavy contingents were deployed around business centres, government installations and other places. The political authorities also arrested at least 12 people under the Collective Responsibility Act of Frontier Crimes Regulations. |
