Arrest Near in Chandra Levy Case
2009-02-22
(CBS) Authorities in Washington, D.C. may be close to an arrest in the murder of former government intern Chandra Levy, a case that made headlines, and brought down a congressman eight years ago.

There are reports that D.C. police have submitted evidence to the U.S. Attorney's Office in an effort to get an arrest warrant for a man identified as Ingmar Guandique.

He's behind bars, convicted of assaulting two women jogging in Washington's Rock Creek Park.

Mr. Guandique is apparently an illegal immigrant but that phrase isn't in the CBS article. Also he has been in prison since the summer of 2001 serving a 10 year sentence

#6  Just another poor illegal forced to do the rape/murders that our congressmen refuse to do.

#5  I'm sure Barry will report his medical expenses on Schedule A, Seafarious.

#4  Very, very sad event even after all these years. However, since the D.C. police and courts are incapable protecting anyone and weapons are outlawed, jogging or biking in Rock Creek Park or any other D.C. public area should require some type of written acknowledgement of danger or legal waiver.

#2  A DC story that may be more important (or possibly just more timely): our former Mayor-For-Life, Hizzoner Marion Barry, underwent a kidney transplant today.

#1  If I never ever hear the words Chandra and Levy together again it will be too soon. The DC press has gone wall-to-wall (AGAIN!) with this non-story and I've just had it.

Please, she's been dead these last eight years and we've got other things that actually matter to discuss. Let her rest, finally.
