[Quqnoos] A roadside bomb struck a convoy of Ghazni governor, wounding two of his bodyguards Firday evening, an official say The explosives laden into a motorbike went off as governor Osman Osmani of Ghazni was returning from a picnic, in the outskirt of the Afghan southern city, his spokesman Sayed Ismael Jahangir said.
"Governor Osmani is unharmed in the blast," spokesman Jahangir confirmed.
The remote-control mine struck the armored vehicle of governor of the southern restive Ghanzi province and partly damaged the vehicle, the official said.
The wounded guardians of the governor were taken to a nearest hospital in Ghazni city, Jahangir further said.
According to reports, a purported Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the life attempt on the governor of a key Afghan province.
Ghazni province, around 130km south of Kabul has turned a volatile region despite additional international troops have been stationed there.
