Turns out the locals appreciate global warming.

#7  Looks like the El Nino will be weak and short lived. Typical for the cool phase of the PDO.

No more 1998 super El Ninos for another 25 years at least.

#6  El Niño predicted this fall/winter, which will skew all the data again.

#5  It all depends on where you're at. We've had a noticeable wet year so far and not the triple digits in the temps allowing for a good crop. It looks like Mesa Verde may well live up to its name [which the first Spanish christened when the came upon it centuries ago]. Meanwhile the real cooling can hammer other producers.

#4  Sustained climate warming will benefit Russia too, as it will probably turn the US grain belt less productive (lower rainfall) and open up large areas of Russia for mass agriculture.

#3  Supposedly there are frozen Ice Age beasts under the ice cover. I'd like to see that.

#2  The Vikings would've like a little more Global Warming too. A bit too late for Leif and the boys. Covered by the History Channel. Of course who pays attention to actual human records rather than 'models' made on insufficient data points and outright presumptions.

#1  Yes indeed - how tacky and irresponsible about the environment those poor ignorant people are ... (OK, so that is sarcasm, for those who haven't perhaps grasped the concept...)

Heck, I lived a year in Greenland, courtesy of the USAF, early in the 80s. Those people who have the hardihood and the determination to live in a place like that deserve all the good luck they get. And the place warming up enough to grow vegetables outdoors ... well, I don't grudge them a lick of it. As the old saying goes, "It's an ill wind that doesn't blow anyone any luck."
