| Mauritanian suicide bomber trained at desert camp, minister says |

| [Maghrebia] The suicide bomber responsible for the Saturday attack near the French embassy in Nouakchott trained at a desert terrorist camp "between Mauritania, Mali and Algeria", Journal Tahalil quoted Mauritanian Interior Minister Mohamed Ould R'Zeizim as saying on Monday (August 10th). "The person in question was listed on the roster of the General Directorate of Security," the minister told Radio France International. "This is a young man who was recruited by the Salafists. I cannot say whether he was recruited by al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb," he added. |
