| [Iran Press TV Latest] Pakistani police have arrested 13 insurgents accused of plotting terrorist attacks across the country and providing information on drug trafficking. Pakistani authorities said seven members of the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi movement, were arrested in a raid in Karachi on Sunday. They were allegedly planning to attack government buildings and officials in the southern teeming port city with more than 16 million residents. Pakistan blames the group for the bombing of Islamabad's Marriott Hotel last year that killed 60 people. The movement is also blamed for the beheading of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl. Nearly 4.5 pounds (2 kilograms) of heroin and 33 pounds (15 kilograms) of explosives were seized in the raid, police said, adding that the terrorists provided clues to drug sales in Asia and the Persian Gulf. |
