The dead was identified as Sanjit Kumar Biswas, 32, resident of Munshi Bazar area under Gerda union of the district.
According to a Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) statement, a joint team of Rab-8 and police raided an under construction house
in the area on information that a group of criminals were holding a secret meeting.

The raid took place at around 3:00am, police said.

When contacted, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station Nur-e-Alam Siddique said Sanjit was convicted in several murder cases.

Police recovered a revolver, a shotgun, and eight rounds of bullet from the scene.
