Beware of Jimena |
2009-08-30 |
The NHC forecast remains above the intensity guidance and shows Jimena as of posting time it is a cat 3 and went from tropical storm to cat 3 in only 30 hours reaching category four strength. The new forecast track increases the threat to the southern Baja California peninsula. Interests in southern baja and western Mexico should monitor the progress of Jimena. A watch may be required for a portion of that area later today. |

#2 as of this posting, it has been upgraded to a category 4; it is possible it will make landfall in Baja as a cat 2 or 3; rain for s cal not likely as of now (none of the computer models bring it near that area) |
