10 militants killed in Swat |

[The News (Pak) Top Stories] Security forces on Thursday claimed to have killed 10 militants on the bank of River Swat near Nawan Killay after an exchange of fire while scores of others were arrested in search operations in various parts of Swat Valley. Official sources said security forces besieged the militants near Nawan Killay and killed 10 of them on the spot in an exchange of fire and arrested six others. The militants arrested several militants, including an important Taliban commander Amjad. In Manja area in Kabal tehsil, security forces demolished the houses of 10 militants. Four militants, identified as Pir Muhammad, Anwar, Fazal Rahim and Fazal Mabood, surrendered to the forces in Kabal. Meanwhile, a media update of the army-run Swat Media Centre said more than a dozen suspects were rounded up in Mam Dheri during a search and clearance operation in the area. |
