Taliban Shadow Governor Detained in Bamyan |

[Quqnoos] Afghan police have recently arrested a Taliban shadow provincial governor in a central Bamyan province, officials said The governor, Mullah Burhan, was appointed by the Taliban leadership to plan and carry out insurgent attacks in the peaceful central Afghan province, Governor Habiba Sarabi said. The arrest has sparked tension among the people in the stable Bamyan province that the Taliban are trying to disrupt the security situation there. Governor Sarabi expressed her concerns over the worsening security situation in Bamyan, as she said the Taliban-led insurgency is flowing in from the restive bordering provinces. "We sent the detained Taliban governor down to the capital, Kabul, for further investigations," Sarabi further added. |
