Is Fox News tilting toward the Arabs?
2010-03-18
I wondered how long it would take after Saudi money was insinuated into Rupert Murdoch's empire before anti-Semitism hit the Fox News airwaves in the form of tug-at-your-heart, pro-Arab, mini-hit pieces against the State of Israel. It didn't take long.

Did anyone notice Shepard Smith's passionate rant against Israel on behalf of the Palestinian Arabs a few days ago? I always thought Smith was just a smarmy, jock-type teeny-bopper. But he obviously knows which side his bread is buttered on, and he is fully capable of getting all lathered up over something about which he is absolutely ignorant.

Today on Fox News, Amy Kellogg did another hit piece on Israel, using a cute little heart-strings-tugger about the peaceful Syrian civilians who picnic on the Golan Heights in nostalgic longing for the times when it belonged to Syria. Of course, there was no mention of the carnage and slaughter inflicted on peaceful Israeli citizens when the Syrians were in charge of the Golan. Apparently, there's no nostalgia in that.

But, what I am wondering is this: since, by its own definition, Fox News is "fair and balanced," where are all the tug-at-your-heart-strings pieces about dispossessed Middle Eastern Jews and innocent Israeli citizens? What's that? Did someone say there aren't any Saudi Princes bankrolling propaganda pieces about non-Arabs in the Middle East? Well, well, who would ever suspect that the power of petro-dollars would turn Fox News into just another anti-Israel propaganda outlet?
I just read that Americans tilt 8 to 1 toward Israel vs. the Palestinians, something like 57% to 7%. Fox News may have made a mistake in placating an investor by irritating viewers.

Cute, swksvolFF. The rest of your comment is certainly thought-provoking. You're good at that, when you want to be. :-)

#21  Dear Trailing wife when your family reside in this wonderful social experiment of our for almost 170 years (we do not eat our gefilte fish sweet )

*shrug* My father was part of the founding generation of Israel, hunterkiller. He served in the 1940s with the British Army at the request of the Haganah or someone, later accidentally blew up part of the Wiezmann institute after hours when a batch of explosives he was mixing turned out to be a bit more unstable than planned, and I've seen his name on some lists of UN science committees back in the 1950s... when Israel was still considered a member of good standing in the world -- at the time he was an expert on fertilizers and pesticides, and rather a pet of Golda Meir's for some reason. He came to America some years later on sabbatical.

We never ate gefilte fish -- my German mother cooks in the French style, so I'm afraid I rather miss that final reference. Is it an insult of some sort?

for what it is worth I'm told that the prostitutes in Israel are mostly multilingual, many speak Russian and Hebrew, some speak Arabic and Hebrew, others speak French and Hebrew and a few speak only Hebrew

Tel aviv has the most prostitutes

and there are semi obscene nicknames for each of these

#16  As I've was taught, always keep your bullshit filters on when someone freely hands you their opinion.

Prolly help you the most sub-type-(wo)man. Geesh, yesterday it was cookies and a used vaccuum cleaner, and today encyclopedias. Kick the goat out your hot tub time machine and go answer me some questions:
1. How do the Islamists plan on dealing with the Liberals -If- the alliance is successful? That is most are going to have to be killed off but those who convert will be even more hard core than the originals and despise the racism of being non-original raceotype idea.

II. What happens -If- Islam does conquor the world? I mean, if the Chinese or Indian or whoever if not the USA than at least said cultures are self-starters, there is still hope for space travel, ocean exploration, and medical experiments outside of the realm of sheep piss cures AIDS. Well, that is, what happens after Islam has its big civil war, then what huh? I mean fuckssake, cannot even get the elevators working in the premier construction project in the middle east working.

C. Since the leading export after oil seems to be lifestyle, a lifestyle which really doesn't sell itself, I gotta ask - is sheep really the next best thing, or what to obtain inofitself? Cousins, are they good to marry because you grew up together or is it just safer emotionally than drawing lots with a stranger in a hood? In your opinion: lack of impulse control - liberating or enslaving?

#15  Dear Trailing wife when your family reside in this wonderful social experiment of our for almost 170 years (we do not eat our gefilte fish sweet ) so I assume IÂ’m eastern by origin not westerner , all my life trepid ,and by association I have see hordes of humanity jews and false ones, converging to Israel and not a speck of democratic national secular integration well Â….
Long time ago David Ben-Gurion, quote: “We will know we have become a normal country when Jewish thieves and Jewish prostitutes conduct their business in Hebrew.” At the moment that place will Be my friend in the Middle East this vision of normalcy will be my goal. Not this undemocratic multi Judaic
12 head beast that I still visit because of necessity

#13  I wouldn't worry too much. Soon, say in 20 years, the Arabs (inc. Chavez and his ilk) will be as penniless as oil dives in value. Sure it will still be an important raw commodity but the publics mass dependency that we currently see will wane quite significantly.

Hence the push by the Islamists to get their hooks into this country and force an Islamic conversion. Islam has NEVER produced anything except hate, death and misery. It has parasitized every Society it could just to stay alive.

We are going to have to finish the Left and their accomplices Islam if we are to survive. Fox is becoming just another propaganda outlet, only they are spewing Islamic propaganda now. People, there is no place to run to, you are going to have to stand and fight...to Hell with the PC nonsense.

At this rate, there will not be an America as you have known it 20 years from now. We are being overrun; illegal aliens, Leftists and Islamists. The barbarians are not at the gate, they are in the compound.

#10  I haven't watched it since that dayÂ….What about Glenn Beck's calling Geert Wilders a facist?

Icerigger, WADR, it’s ironic that the two above statements from your comments are back to back. If you…you know…actually did watch the Beck episode you are referring to you would know Beck called Wilders “far right” – not a fascist. In that same segment he also referred to Sarkozy as “far left”. I suspect there are other folks out there (who also didn’t watch his show) who are upset because somebody told them Beck called him a communist. Both examples were used in the context of the dangers of expanded government powers. Look, I’m not defending Beck. Hell, he might actually think Wilders is a fascist. I don't know and frankly don't care. That’s not my point. Before repeating something, especially when taking a pot shot, it’s not a bad idea to know what you’re talking about. Nuthin’ personal…I’d say the same thing to Anita Dunn.

As far as the above article – it’s a typical seminar op/ed. The author searches for an issue applicable to his cause. Then inserts random examples, regardless of relevancy, in hopes of bolstering a narrative. This one is actually a pretty lame attempt.

- a lot of the eclipse of the sephardi religious influence is due to the behavior of Ovadia Yosef, who, while greatly revered for his learning (his halacka decisions have been published and run to about 6000 pages and are studied by every Ashkenazi institution) has at times gotten far too close to Shimon Peres and at other times too close to other politicos and has made Shas a sock puppet to whoever he was close to at the time. This has done damage to the religious worldview of Sephardi. Notwithstanding this, the sephardi cultural influence is very strong; Ashkenazi kids are forming bands playing sephardi songs and most of the 'kool' hangouts are sephardi (these last two obs are according to my daughter who lives in Israel).

#7  It's not entirely clear to me that SHAS Party Rants and spinning regarding American journalism from the author of this article knows who The American media is or cares ...

Either hunterkiller is copy-pasting today, or he was doing so yesterday. I mean, really -- yesterday he wrote

#21 Talk is cheap.........if you Rantburghers, as American citizens, have a problem with the Apartheid regime of Israel; A let your money do the talking. Boycott all Israeli products and services immediately like many of us. And if you are aware of businesses that engage in commerce (or support) Israel in any way, boycott them as well. It's pretty simple, and it worked with South Africa. Boycott Israel now!
We should also demand an immediate cessation of all US aid to Israel, particularly military aid. We must not be part of these crimes against humanity B if you do not have problems with Israeli your cause is domed anyway .....Jews in the USA are only 1.4%
And only a small percentage of them support Israel "at oltranza" Regarding the Christian yahoos ... well they are irrelevant, and AIPAC? Well AIPAC and is members are already branded traitors of the America peoples and is political and military interests
So in the end is a non winning situation for the racist Israel and is morons Anti-American supporters, Real Conservatives do not happily embrace that little shity state at all.

and today he posts an erudite little piece on haredi Jews and the Maimonides writings he didn't see last week while making a tour of the orthodox synagogues of Israel? Mr. hunterkiller, please write something to persuade me that you are not a particularly bad example of a pseudo-clever troll, whose cleverness is limited to choosing whose posts from which websites you steal and claim as your very own original thoughts that came out of that oh-so-gigantic hydrocephalic braincase.

Have a look at the Honda FCX Clarity, this uses hydrogen to power it. Using no petrol in our vehicles will produce a massive and significant financial shift in the world oil markets. Some of me questions why the Arabs needed Dubai, possibly the realisation that in a few years they would otherwise be forgotten?

I would also keep an eye on Bolivia, not in a bad way, just they hold the worlds Lithium stock which is important in battery vehicles. I hope the Bolivians can exploit this opportunity for their own good.

#3  Glenn Beck: "I have read the Koran and can tell you that I unequivocally believe that Islam is a religion of peace". What Qur'an did he read? He's either lying or seriously deranged. Nobody could read the Koran and come away thinking that.

The last time I watched him when he read an e-mail from a woman who complained he was not hard enough on islam. He told her on air "I've done my homework and I can tell you that islam is a religion of peace. If you don't like hearing that on my show, then don't watch it".

I like Glenn Beck but he is an Idiot went it comes to Islam. He may have read the Quran but I doubt if he knows that it is NOT in chronological order and also does does NOT know about the Islamic Law of ABROGATION where the "peaceful" verses are NULL and VOID

I haven't watched it since that day.

What about Glenn Beck's calling Geert Wilders a facist? Fox pulled the video from all over the web imediately with copywrite claims. Fox never never does that.

rrrrrrrrring!

Hello? Rupert this is Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal. You know I'm really not liking this Wilders fellow. He's beginning to lead a movement against the Islamization of Europe. In fact he might be successful. Not good, Rupert. Maybe you could have a talk with Apocalypto and some of your All Stars......

Then there is Charles Krauthammer's spew on Wilders. "What he says is extreme, radical, and wrong. He basically is arguing that Islam is the same as Islamism. Islamism is an ideology of a small minority which holds that the essence of Islam is jihad, conquest, forcing people into accepting a certain very narrow interpretation [of Islam]".

We should have been all over this.

#2  So when Ashkenazi leaders like Eliezer Shach threaten the career of Sephardi Rabbis over the Shmita issue, burn our books and prohibit Mizrahi Jews from registering in schools (bet yaakob), it's hard to make a case that haredi Ashkenazi Judaism is not a racist hate-mongering entity

Replace any Jewish term with a Islamic sect and you have a cogent description of the cause of 90 percent of the problems in the Middle East.

Modern pan Arab Socialism is the brainchild of the Russian Bolsheviks of the 1920s. It kept Arab sympathizers in line and provided a carrot to keep pesky Arab mobocracies from wandering too far into religion.

Because Arab socialism has retained the nastiest parts of this sorry alliance doesn't make any part of it a legitimate ideology. It's just hatred.

#1  ItÂ’s not entirely clear to me that SHAS Party Rants and spinning regarding American journalism from the author of this article knows who The American media is or cares ... Sound to me that the author have very narrow theological interests that don't conform to the theological interests of the American Peoples and American Jews. The high-tech entrepreneurs of Tel Aviv relate to the SHAS Party about as well as the Jews of the Upper West Side relate to the Tea Party. The SHAS Party is not overly attuned to the American-Israel relationship or the peace process and now is clearly sipping in the American media using garbage like this article to divide; sorry brother but we throw the garbage on the bin Â…cause smell.
There is little doubt that once mizrahi jewry emigrated to Israel, they abandoned many of the religious traditions that were held so sacred at home, taking upon themselves haredi Ashkenazi Judaism. The most readily identifiable trait is dress, but even worse its scholastic. Just last week i was in Israel and attended numerous synagogues, all of which had many copies of the Mishne Berurah and books of Nachman Uman, but not one of Maimonides Mishne Torah or his philosophical works. Sephardic RabbiÂ’s in Israel have been heavily influenced by Shas, which in turn was influenced by Agudath, and has replaced the Sephardic library with the works of 16-18th century eastern European halakha/philosophy.
It was Maimonides works that ruled supreme in the Middle East, and is even acknowledged by the Shulkhan Arukh as a more supreme text to his own rendition of halakha. Chauvinism in this case would be defined as the unquestionable belief in national superiority. We should also note that meaning of the word orthodox, ‘is one who has the right opinion.’ So when Ashkenazi leaders like Eliezer Shach threaten the career of Sephardi Rabbis over the Shmita issue, burn our books and prohibit Mizrahi Jews from registering in schools (bet yaakob), it’s hard to make a case that haredi Ashkenazi Judaism is not a racist hate-mongering entity that seeks to monopolize Judaism and bring us back to the insular ghetto style ways of Galacia.
