#4  Immunity to tear gas isn't that radical. There are lots of people who develop resistance to CS with repeated exposure, though I don't know about other agents.

#3  Awesome! Immune to tear gas? Hell maybe we could breed them to ignore lead too. Also, could be breed for tasty loins, a sort of mobile beef, all sorta stuff. Except the enemy would fight back with thousands and thousand of tiny AI assisted Kittuahs - so it would likely be a stand-off.... unless the armoured dophins intervened.

#2  The US military has never had the continuity to subcontract for selectively bred dogs and other animals. But I can easily imagine any number of specialized breeds that would be as functional as UAVs.

Reconnaissance dogs could easily secure a five mile radius and notify of any intrusions. A dozen small and fast bomb sniffers could clear a large, full parking lot in just a minute or two, or zip through a civilian area and detect IEDs, mines, booby traps, etc.

Security dogs can easily pick up on the scent of fear coming from a single person in a crowd. Anti-riot dogs could specifically target gunmen or fire throwers, while being immune to tear gas.

All sorts of possibilities.
