Kagan Declines To Say Gov't Has No Power to Tell Americans What To Eat
2010-06-30
Warning! Warning! Danger Will Robinson!

This is not the time to waffle, Kagan. Unless you have something to hide . . . .

#8  ...eat cake, peasants.

#7  Gee, AC, you make it sound like a criminal enterprise.

There are 58 Democratic senators, one for each state. Kagan is an androgynous ideologically reliable member of the East Coast elite (Caution: multiple redundancy alert.) OK, so she's never tried a case, taken a deposition, drafted a contract, probated a will or done any of the other tasks that practicing lawyers do, but that's not what this is about.

#6  Now, now, Rantbourgeoisie, we must face facts.

With our Diminishing Resources and the urgent need for Social Justice®; the new, progressive society of the future must inevitably make hard decisions about the allocation of resources.

It's for the children, you know.

Naturally, those who Work for Peace, Enlightenment, and Social Justice®; the administrators who make the tough decisions, the multicultural academics and workers who support them, and the media personalities who enlighten us; have greater needs than ordinary workers and peasants.

You just cannot expect leaders like Barbara Boxer or Keith Olbermann to subsist on the same gruel rations as, say, a car bicycle mechanic or an IT tech. Their retention of limousines and private jets would similarly not be an injustice but a publicly responsible effort to save one of our most precious resources, the time and energy of Those Who Sacrifice® so much on our behalf.

#5  It doesn't look like she has a problem telling herself what to eat - LOTS...
Ahem. Some of us regular readers eat well, too; as does at least one mod I know extremely well ...

#4  Here's the link for that.

#3  I saw it proposed a bit ago that she waffled because didn't want to insult the other SC justices.

If a liberal wrote this it suggests even liberals know Obamacare is wrong. If a conservative wrote it, it's quite a zinger!

#2  Of course she waffled. That's what Supreme Court nominees are supposed to do in the confirmation hearings, See Bork, Robert.

She wouldn't give you a straight answer on what she had for lunch.

#1  Hmm. And I thought that a simple NO, it can't, would have settled the question?
