| Sinaloa: Mexican Federal Prosecutor Shot to Death |

A Mexican Federal prosecutor ending his day late last night was hot to death as he sat in his car by a group of armed suspects in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, according to Mexican news reports. Jesus Manuel Ramirez Murillo, 37, had just finished his day at about 2330 hrs. when he was attacked in front of his fellow colleagues near the offices of the Procuraduria General de Justicia. Witnesses say Murillo was sitting in his Toyota Corolla on Avenida del Mar when two SUVs, a Chevrolet Avalanche and a GMC Yukon, pulled up and discharged two groups of armed suspects, who then started firing. He was shot from the right side by suspects with 9mm pistols and from the left side with AK-47 assault rifles. He was shot at more than 60 times. The suspects then boarded the two SUVs and fled the scene. Reports are three others were murdered in Mazatlan in three other unrelated crimes. |
