#6  At least they didn't cut off their noses and ears and then leave them to die and then blow up the tankers.

#5  When the dancin's done, you STILL have to pay the piper. Sometime the payment's a bit steep. The moral here is that if you steal from Uncle Sam, you just might have to pay a very hefty price for doing so. I'm just sh$$ out of sympathy for the idjits in Afghanistan.

#3  I seem to recall this was some time ago, and commentary was that a number of local villagers etc. came with containers to collect fuel from the stuck trucks, by invitation of the Taliban.

#2  The tankers were stuck in a riverbed - not in the middle of a village, on a road, or in a city.

I doubt those were 'civilians' - at least not until after they were dead (and disarmed).

Of course that doesn't fit the 'narrative' does it?

#1  The seems to be a lot of deliberation involved before finally pulling the trigger. 140+ dead, 40 of which were civilians? How is that determined - Taliban don't wear uniforms. Could be all talibs, or all civilians - they're not mutaually exclusive.
Lastly - you live in a bandit culture, you should expect to be treated as a bandit.
