| Bout extradition ruling follows US pressure -- Russian officials |

| In a statement from its Foreign Ministry Friday, Russia says the decision by a Thai court to extradite the Russian national Viktor Bout to the United States has nothing to do with justice and is the result of American political pressure on Thailand. Good. Nice to know that the U.S., on occasion, can successfully throw its weight around. It also says it will continue efforts to have Mr Bout released and flown home. Mr. Bout is facing an Everest of trumped-up arms smuggling charges. |
