16 Die in Northern Mexico
Today records 16 individuals who died in ongoing drug and gang related violence in northern Mexican states including a Juarez, Chihuahua, police officer shot to death and five people murdered at a residence, also in Juarez.

- Two unidentified men were shot to death Monday afternoon in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, according to Mexican press accounts. The attack took place near the intersection of calles 15th and Ojinaga in the Villa Juarez district where armed suspects riding aboard a GMC Yukon SUV fired on the pair killing them.
- An unidentified woman in her 20s was shot to death in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, according to Mexican news reports. The attack took place near the intersection of avenidas Zaragoza and José Maria Mata in the Granjas district where armed suspects shot the victim aboard her Chevrolet Malibu sedan. The victim had a large amount of cash and jewelry on her person, and witnesses say an unidentified man as in the car just prior to the attack.
