Ridge backs Toomey in Senate race |
2010-09-11 |
[GoErie.com] Former Gov. Tom Ridge, a Republican, endorsed GOP nominee Pat Toomey during a news conference today in State College. Toomey, a former congressman, is running against Democratic U.S. Rep. Joe Sestak. "Voters across Pennsylvania are rallying to Pat's vision for creating jobs and bringing fiscal responsibility to Washington,'' Ridge said in a statement. "I am endorsing Pat today because he is an honest, principled leader who is unafraid to stand up for what's right. As a member of Congress, Pat consistently fought for taxpayers, and in today's economic climate, that trait is more important than ever,'' Ridge said. |

#1 Mighty big of you there, Tom. Bush the Younger did the commonwealth a favor by naming Ridge his first Homeland Security guy. It got him out of the Governor's mansion. Schweiker was a much better executive if you ask me, even if his name is impossible to spell without a reference. |
