The incident area was cordoned off, the people were evacuated from the neighbouring buildings. The bomb was demined with the help of a robotic arm and a water cannon.

"The city authorities have taken necessary measures to ensure security of people, all services were put on high alert," the press service of the Stavropol authorities reported on Thursday.

A terrorist act was committed at a cafe near the palace of culture and sports in Stavropol about four months ago on May 26. A homemade bomb was blasted 15 minutes before a concert of the Chechen dance company Vainah. Eight people were killed and more than 40 people were injured. This crime has not been solved yet.
