[Iran Press TV] A senior Iraqi official's convoy was hit by a roadside kaboom just outside of Iraq, killing four people and wounding six others, including the politician. Abdul Karim Al-Mohammadawi, a prominent member of the Sunni-backed Iraqiya alliance, was traveling in Jurf al-Nadaf, some 10 kilometers (6 miles) southeast of Storied Baghdad on Thursday when the roadside kaboom hit his convoy wounding him and killing his bodyguard, AP reported. Three civilians were also killed and two were maimed. The Iraqiya alliance is a secular bloc led by Ayad Allawi who is locked in a power struggle with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki since the election in March. |
