[Washington Examiner] Lisa Daddy, can I be a senator? Murkowski's lobbyist friends have launched a "Super PAC," called "Alaskans Standing Together," funded by 6-figure checks from Alaska Native Corporations, which are subsidized by the likes of Lisa Murkowski. I cover this racket in my column today, but the Sunlight Foundation yesterday noticed something odd about AST's campaign finance filings.
In brief, AST -- which can take unlimited corporate contributions for the sake of independent expenditures -- is required by law to swear it's not coordinating with any candidate. According to AST's filings, Lisa Murkowski is the AST official swearing AST isn't coordinating with any committee. |
