Manuel Bernal Oscar Soriano, AKA The Spider, was arrested after a detachment of the Mexican 7th Military Zone was called to an area in Monterrey about a convoy of vehicles with armed men aboard.
The arrest took place on the corner of avenidas Paseo de los Leones and Pedro Infante in the Santa Clara de Monterrey district in the suburb of Garcia.

Oscar Soriano is suspected in the murder of a retired Mexican brigadier general in November who had taken the role of Seguridad Publica of Garcia only a few days before being killed. General Esparza Garcia was murdered in an ambush on November 4th, 2009.
Oscar Soriano is also suspected in the disappearance of three Mexican soldiers abducted from a bus station in Monterrey and of two abducted municipal police officers in another case.
