| #3 ...RTFA: If we were under verified, no-s@it attack, they could still have been launched. There's about a half-dozen different ways to get the birds airborne if necessary. When they say 'communicate', they mean they couldn't retarget them (irrelevant in a 'under attack' scenario) or do diagnostics. Security measures are a bit more worrysome, but keep this in mind: there are multiple layers of security on these beasts. As soon as the alarms went offline, the USAF Security Forces patrols which are already out there and looking around would have gone to a higher state of readiness and more guys would have been sent out from the base itself to back them up until they got things fixed.
