Six municipal police have been wounded in a grenade attack in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, while no Mexican Federal agents were hurt after a launched grenade fail to detonate in Escobedo, Nuevo Leon.
The attack in Ciudad Victoria municipal police headquarters took place at about 0630 hrs Wednesday morning near the corner of Bulevard Lopez Mateos and Prolongacion Sarabia.
Three armed suspects threw several fragmentation grenades at the building causing damage and wounding six police officers. Unofficial reports say as many as eight were wounded in the attack.
Meanwhile, in Escobedo, Nuevo Leon armed suspects traveling aboard two vehicles apparently launched a grenade at a facility of the Policia Federal.
The attack took place at about 2030 hrs near the intersection of avenidas Carretera Laredo and Sendero.
Tha attack caused no damage and no injuries because the grenade failed to detonate.
