Iowa Judges Unseated; Christians Celebrate Marriage Win
2010-11-04

#5  "If the Iowa Supreme Court will do this to marriage, every one of our freedoms, including gun rights and private property, is in danger of being usurped by activist judges who are unelected officials."

This statement is one to contemplate. Other freedoms would be in danger also of being usurped by activist judges such as freedom of religion, freedom of speech, due process, etc.

#4  The statement released by the defeated judges just drips of the usual elitist self rationalization. If government derives its powers from the consent of the governed, so does its law. Note to the judges - 'outside interests' don't normally vote in Iowa [maybe Chicago, NJ, MA, et al], look to your own.

#3  All those who legislate should answer to the voters. This was justice.

#2  I kind of like this idea of being able to unseat judges that legislate from the bench.
