#5 My understanding is that the deception is that although NPR only gets 2% of its direct funding from the government, through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, local stations are funded to pay for programming, which they then use to pay NPR for its programs at very substantial rates. SO the public financing of NPR though indirect means is substantial. As usual with liberals/democrats, tricksie lawyer gimmicks hide the truth, and give them the ability to publicly lie through omission, fooling the rubes yet again! |

#4 The head of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, NPR's parent and sugar daddy, said that only 2% of their funding came from government. When it was pointed out that if the public funding is only 2% of their budget then they shouldn't miss it if was then cut, she then changed her tune and said that the public funding was 'essential'. If indeed it's only 2%, cut it and let's see what happens. But then, I'm a scientist, and I enjoy doing experiments. |
