| Al-Maliki meets U.S. congressional delegation |

| BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki held on Tuesday a meeting with a U.S. Congressional delegation, led by Senator John McCain, according to an official statement. “Al-Maliki discussed with a delegation of U.S. congress, led by Senator John McCain, the development of bilateral relations and the ongoing political process,” said the statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency. “The premier underlined the importance of boosting ties with Washington in all fields, and the signed strategic agreement,” it added. “We are keen to form a government of national unity, which includes all political blocs,” the statement quoted the premier as saying. |
