| Army Strikes Suspected Al-Qaeda Positions in North Yemen |

| [Yemen Post] Yemeni planes carried out surprising air strikes on suspected Al-Qaeda hideouts and sites in mountainous areas in capital Sana'a on Sunday. Independent sources said the army targeted the areas in Bani Dhabyan, 60 km east of Sana'a, where Al-Qaeda members are thought to have holed up to plot and commit further attacks following AQAP's vow to continue the fight against the government and its western allies. There were no reports of casualties. Yemen has been waging a brutal war on Al-Qaeda after hard boyz stepped up their attacks against domestic and foreign interests across the country. In recent months, cleanup and large-scale operations against AQAP have been carried out in southern and southeastern provinces where security buildings, patrols and officers, and army camps, convoys and commanders as well as local officials including governors were main targets by orcs. Many suspects were killed, maimed and jugged and others gave up as the west continues to pressure Yemen to do more to eliminate terrorism on its soil. |
